Mustard, lemon, buttercup, lemonade, saffron, golden, sunshine, canary…no matter what you call it, I’ve been wearing a lot of yellow lately. Whether just a touch or head to toe, I can’t get enough of the sunny shade. I read once that yellow is the best color to boost enthusiasm and can contribute to greater optimism. In color psychology, yellow is thought to help make decisions, increase clarity of thought, and promote new ideas.
One of the reasons I love Boston is its proximity to fabulous places outside the city. Within a short amount of time, I can find the ocean, lakes, mountains, and gardens. It was the latter this week when I visited this amazing garden. Because I live in a climate that changes with the seasons, I always look forward to the burst of flowers every summer. Sometimes I wish we had flowers year round and then I realize how much more special they are when they come and go.
Can we talk about this bubble dress for a minute? It was another lucky vintage find. I’ve had it in mind a few times but I wanted it to have a special moment so I waited until I got to tour this beautiful garden. The good thing about a bubble dress in the heat of summer is it’s nice and cool! You might not be able to tell from these pictures but it was a hot day. There are some similar summer dress options to shop here, here, and here. I’m also wearing my favorite summer accessories – block heel sandals (similar and affordable here), asymmetric earrings (try this pair), and a swingy little bag (I love this one).
Next week I’m off to NYC.
